PROGRAMA

The book is the result of the collaboration between two Research Groups, in the framework of the European Institute of International Studies:

1. The first Group: Inter-regional dialogue and Global Governance has been responsible for the study and analysis of the impact of the regional integration processes in international relations and its consequences for global governance.

2. The second Group: Finance and the Private Sector has been focused on the different dynamics that are related to economic growth, delving into areas such as entrepreneurship and innovation, corporate governance, access to financial services and the business environment in general, along with the inter-linkages that tie such financial developments to financial regulation and geopolitical developments.

At the same time, both Groups present research projects with well-informed insight, as well as recommendations and initiatives towards action, with the final aim of promoting sustainable development, education and reduction of poverty.

In short, this book aims to present a deep and meticulous analysis of what the Pacific Alliance is so far. The book tries not only to offer a landscape of opportunities for the success of the Pacific Alliance, but also to make serious recommendations in areas of possible challenges.

Pacific Alliance
The Pacific Alliance is a relatively new initiative of Colombia, Chile, Peru and Mexico; countries that seek to establish a new process of regional integration in Latin America and the Caribbean. Such a process is to be based in a shared vision of political economy and free trade as a model of development.
